A block from the square
Red Market is at 13 East 13th Street, Floor 2 — one block south of Union Square, between Fifth Avenue and University Place. The 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R and W all stop at Union Square, and the F and M are two minutes west at 14th Street. There is no easier salon in Manhattan to reach without a transfer.
That matters more than it sounds. A color appointment is not a fifteen-minute errand — a full balayage runs a few hours — so being able to get here from Brooklyn, midtown or the Upper East Side on a single train is often the difference between keeping the appointment and rescheduling it.
What people book around the square
The Union Square catchment is heavily weekday: people who work nearby, in the Flatiron offices or the tech buildings around Broadway, and who want color and a cut without giving up a Saturday. We are open until 8pm Tuesday through Friday for exactly that.
Hand-painted balayage from $350, precision cuts, glosses, blowouts and color correction — every color service beginning with a complimentary consultation.
