Most people arrive asking for a service by name when what they really have is a result in mind. The consultation exists to translate one into the other, and it is complimentary.
Single process ($185) is an all-over color — covering gray, going darker, or evening out a base. A gloss ($95) adds tone and shine without lightening, and is the fastest way to refresh color that has gone dull or brassy. Balayage (from $350) is hand-painted dimensional lightening for a sun-lifted, low-maintenance result. Double process ($400) is for a genuine change of level, such as platinum or pastel, where the hair is lightened and then toned.
Color designed around the upkeep you will actually do
The most common mistake in color is choosing a result that needs more maintenance than your life allows. A color that demands a root touch-up every four weeks is a poor choice if you can come in twice a year, and a good colorist will say so rather than sell it to you.
