Straight down Fifth
From the Flatiron Building it is a ten-minute walk south down Fifth Avenue to 13th Street, then a few doors east. We are on the second floor at 13 East 13th Street. From Madison Square Park or the offices around 23rd Street, the N, R and W drop you at Union Square, one block away.
This is our most weekday-driven catchment by some distance. Flatiron guests book around the working day — a blowout before a client dinner, a cut at 6pm, color on a Friday afternoon — which is why we hold evening slots through to 8pm from Tuesday to Friday.
Color that survives a work schedule
The practical argument for freehand balayage is maintenance. Foils leave a hard line at the root that starts announcing itself at about four weeks; hand-painted color does not, so the gap between appointments stretches to months. If your calendar does not tolerate a standing six-week root appointment, this is the technique that fits it.
Balayage starts at $350 including a personalized gloss. Every color service opens with a complimentary consultation, so you know the price before anything is mixed.

Frequently asked
How far is Red Market from the Flatiron?
About a ten-minute walk south down Fifth Avenue, or one stop on the N, R or W from 23rd Street to Union Square. We are at 13 East 13th Street, Floor 2.
Do you have evening appointments?
Yes — we are open until 8pm Tuesday through Friday. Color appointments run a few hours, so an evening color slot needs booking further ahead than a cut or a blowout.
