Red Market · New York
About
French technique, a downtown edge, and a color house built on the craft — in New York since the early 2000s.
A French color house downtown
Red Market is a color house first. Our craft is hand-painted French balayage and natural, dimensional color — done the way it is done in Paris, with an effortless downtown-New-York edge. Color so natural people stop you on the street, paired with precise cuts built to grow out clean.
Hand-painted color by the Red Market team.
From Paris to downtown New York
Red Market was brought to New York by Reynald Ricard, a master colorist from France. He carried French color technique from Paris to downtown Manhattan in the early 2000s — first in the Meatpacking District, now in the heart of Greenwich Village at 13 East 13th Street.
It is one half of a two-city Red Market: New York with Reynald, and Miami with Jean Marc Durante. The same spirit runs through both — serious, natural color, precision cuts that grow out beautifully, and a French technique kept current with frequent trips back to Paris for new ideas.
Great color shouldn't look done. It should look like it's yours — like you were born with it. — Reynald Ricard, Master Colorist & Owner
The artists are the story
Ask what Red Market is, and the answer is the artists. The salon brings together French-trained founders and specialists — each with a distinct craft in color, cutting, or styling — so every guest is matched with someone whose specialism actually fits what they came in for.
