Red Market is a color house first. Our craft is hand-painted French balayage and natural, dimensional color — done the way it is done in Paris, with an effortless downtown-New-York edge. Color so natural people stop you on the street, paired with precise cuts built to grow out clean.
From Paris to downtown New York
Red Market was brought to New York by Reynald Ricard, a master colorist from France. He carried French color technique from Paris to downtown Manhattan in the early 2000s — first in the Meatpacking District, now in the heart of Greenwich Village at 13 East 13th Street.
It is one half of a two-city Red Market: New York with Reynald, and Miami with Jean Marc Durante. The same spirit runs through both — serious, natural color, precision cuts that grow out beautifully, and a French technique kept current with frequent trips back to Paris for new ideas.
